Biography

Keith Carpenter is a composer, guitarist and scholar of pop and rock music. His music has been performed nationally and internationally including the Tage fur Neue Musik festival at Darmstadt, Germany, the International 21st Century Guitar Festival at Ball Sate University, and numerous new music conferences and festivals throughout the US. Because of his background as a guitarist and scholar of pop music, his music is marked by a strong connection to American vernacular music. His works are published by Effiny Music and Iggydog Music.

Several of Carpenter's works have been released on cd, including his piano suite An Even Number of Odd Pieces performed by Tomoko Deguchi (Capstone Records), The Devil His Due a duet for baritone saxophone and piano recorded by members of Thelema Trio (Innova Records), and Sister Rosetta Calling the Sinners Home for organ recorded by Diane Luchese (Raven Records).
