Biography

Jessica Berlin Krivsky received her undergraduate degree from the University of Denver and her master’s degree from Goucher College in Baltimore, Maryland. Shehas been teaching at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee since 2008. During that time, Jessica has rewritten (and continues to update) the curriculum for the management courses offered in the Theatre Department; ensuring they are relevant and align with the ever-changing professional standards. She teaches courses in stage management, production management, theatre management, and leadership.

Jessica also teaches a bi-yearly course for the Dance Department at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. She is a firm believer that it is integral for students to learn how to manage multiple styles of performance: musicals, plays, opera, and dance. She works with the Voice and Dance Departments in assigning student stage managers opera and dance productions. She has stage managed dance concerts and production managed regional college festivals hosted by the Dance Department.

In addition to teaching, Jessica mentors the stage management students; preparing them to successfully enter the workforce after graduation. She is also the production manager for the Theatre Department overseeing up to seven productions a year. Jessica also serves as the chairperson for the Theatre Department’s season selection committee which is responsible for choosing the plays and musicals the department produces each year.

Jessica has worked professionally around the country as both a stage manager and production manager and has been a member of the Actors' Equity Association union since 1996. Some of the companies Jessica has worked for include The Denver Center, Dallas Theatre Center, Studio Arena Theatre and San Jose Rep. Locally, she has worked with Skylight Music Theatre, Black Arts MKE, and Dawn Springer Dance Projects.

Jessica also has live-television experience. She has production managed and stage managed several political debates ranging from local mayoral debates to a national Democratic one hosted by PBS News Hour.
