Sisters like me is an event for Black womxn-identified students to facilitate community and bonding. Join us for an afternoon of Black Girl Magic! Black womxn leaders on and off campus will be facilitating discussions and sharing their experiences with self-care as a radical and important act, especially during this current climate.

Flavia Rios (Ph.D, USP) is a Professor of Sociology at the Universidade Federal Fluminense (UFF), Brazil. She was a Visiting Student Reasearcher Collaborator (VSRC) in the Department of Sociology at Princeton University (2013). Her main interests are Social Movements, racial inequalities, Affirmative Actions and Black thought. Under the African Skies: Uganda

Jackline Kirungi (Ph.D. student in the Department of African and African Diaspora Studies at UWM) will explore gender, marriage, family, and racism in different communities. In Uganda, she researched gender and health, gender and education in adolescents, gender and feminism studies in Africa, gender and migration, gender and local government, and water.
