UW-Milwaukee has been named a Gold Fit-Friendly Organization by the American Heart Association.
The heart association gives the recognition to workplaces that create a “culture of health.” That comes through efforts to increase employee wellness such as offering support for physical activity and increasing healthy eating options.
Such efforts lead to positive outcomes, the association said, such as increased productivity, reduced absenteeism, lower turnover and reduced healthcare costs.
