UWM eases transfers from Northcentral Technical College

UW-Milwaukee School of Education reached an agreement with Northcentral Technical College in Wausau that will allow technical college students to seamlessly transfer certain credits to a UWM education program.

Students who complete a two-year associate degree at Wausau in Human Services, Human Services-Academic Track, or Human Services-Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse will be able to transfer their credits to UWM to apply toward a bachelor’s degree in Community Engagement and Education. This would allow student to complete their first two years at the technical college and then transfer to UWM with junior status to complete their final two years at the UWM campus or online.

“There is a natural fit between the field of human services and community engagement and education,” said Aaria Troiano, who worked on the agreement. She is a senior lecturer in the Educational Policy and Community Studies Department.

She added: “We share a commitment to individual and community well-being. On behalf of the Department of Educational Policy and Community Studies, and the School of Education, we very much look forward to welcoming many Northcentral Technical College graduates of the Human Services programs to the Community Engagement and Education BS degree program.”

Northcentral Technical College serves all or portions of, Marathon, Lincoln, Taylor, Price, Langlade, Menominee, Clark, Portage, Shawano and Waupaca counties.
