Proposals sought for MALLT Student Symposium 2017

Students are invited to submit proposals for 15-minute papers and presentations for MALLT Student Symposium 2017, hosted by UWM’s master’s program in language, literature and translation.

In MALLT’s first student symposium, we welcome UWM undergraduate and graduate student scholars to share past and present works of research on topics across comparative literature, foreign language, global studies, international studies, linguistics, and translating and interpreting and many more.

The student symposium is a great way to meet and connect with other students with shared interests in the diverse fields of language, literature and translation.

Submission requirements:

The presentation must fall within the fields of language, literature or translation. This includes but is not limited to, comparative literature, foreign language, global studies, international studies, linguistics, and translating and interpreting. Abstracts should be a 300-word summary of the presentation. The abstract should include a title, which discipline from which it comes, a clearly defined thesis and a conclusion. Please also include your sources in a bibliography. It should be formatted in Microsoft Word, 12 point font, single spaced.

Please email abstracts by Tuesday, Feb. 28, and send all other questions to mallt-symposium@uwm.edu.
