Casey O’Brien receives award for speaking out in support of LGBTQ+ issues.

Casey O’Brien (Women’s and Gender Studies and Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning) received the 2018 Dr. Jeff Merrick Leadership Award at this year’s UWM Lavender Graduation. This award is presented to a member of the faculty or staff at UWM who has shown dedication and support for LGBTQ+ people through taking the initiative to stand up and speak out against issues of homophobia, transphobia, heterosexism, and cissexism. Congratulations, Casey!
