Assistant Chair Kathy Miller-Dillon Retires after 20 Years

On July 1, Women’s & Gender Studies said farewell to Kathy Miller-Dillon, who served as Assistant Director and later Assistant Chair. Kathy mentored, taught, and advised hundreds of undergraduate students and oversaw many internships and independent studies. A tireless supporter for women’s and gender issues, Kathy’s advocacy on behalf of WGS played a significant role in our program’s development. Her continual efforts to make WGS accessible to undergraduate students enabled the development of a free-standing major and minor with steady or growing enrollments over the years. Kathy was “the face of Women’s & Gender Studies” on campus for two decades and a steadfast defender of faculty governance and academic staff rights. WGS will miss her and wishes her a relaxing, fulfilling retirement.
