Spring 2026 Essential Parking & Transit Information

All student parking permits are sold out. Students can register for the UPARK Park & Ride at Capitol Humboldt; students who pay segregated fees as part of tuition can register for free.

Employees who need a parking permit can purchase one for the Pavilion/Klotsche Garage, NWQ Garage, or Lots 7 and 20 SARUP/Cunningham.

Students with a U-PASS can register for the Milwaukee County Transit System’s WisGo program, powered by UMO.

App is the default method of the UPASS. However, students who do not have a smart phone or have disabilities that make it difficult to use a smart phone may qualify for a card.

Activation requires a benefit code assigned by Transportation Services on behalf of MCTS. Students get a new benefit code each semester they are enrolled, including:

  • Fall (covers Winterim if not graduated)
  • Spring
  • Summer

You must be currently enrolled in classes at the UWM Main campus or be paying the U-PASS portion of segregated fees to qualify for a U-PASS.

All of these steps require access to a computer or a smart phone for sign up. Transportation Services is unable to complete the sign up on the behalf of the user. When asked to create an account, please use your UWM.EDU email address. If you use your personal email address (@gmail, @outlook, etc.), your benefit code may not work since it is meant to be used with a UWM email.

Please note: You must have cellular or wifi service to download the app and redeem the benefit code. You do NOT need a cellular data plan or wifi to use the QR code.

To set up your UMO app to use your U-PASS or CVP, please do the following:

  1. Submit the UPASS Benefit Code Request Form. You must be logged into your UWM account. You will receive an email with the benefit code within 20 minutes.
  2. First Time Users Only:
    1. Download the UMO Mobility app for your iOS or Android device.
    2. First time users only: go through the steps to set up the app (such as location settings). When asked, select the location of WisGo, MCTS – Milwaukee County Transit System, or Milwaukee – Waukesha, WI as the transit agency. The exact name may vary based on the device.
    3. Click the menu icon (hamburger) in the top right of the screen to access settings.
    4. At the first option on the menu, you may see one of two options: (1) My Account or (2) Sign in or Join. Create an account if you do not have one. It should be tied to UWM.edu email account.
  3. Click the menu icon (hamburger) in the top right of the screen to access settings.
  4. Click Redeem Benefit (third option in the menu).
  5. Enter the Benefit Code (minus the MCTS prefix).
  6. Click Continue.
  7. It will show up as successful – if not, check out our Troubleshooting guide.
  8. Go to your homepage, you will now see a Validation Code (a QR code) listed under My Wallet. You will scan that QR code against the farebox to ride the bus.

See this flier from MCTS for more information!

Did you have issues redeeming your benefit code? If you tried redeeming the benefit code but were unsuccessful, please refer to our troubleshooting guide to learn more.
