Milwaukee County Transit System (MCTS) will introduce its winter schedule updates on January 11. Riders are invited to view the changes at RideMCTS.com/ServiceChanges
For the seven major routes that service UWM and the surrounding area, a summary of major changes is below.
MCTS Route Changes
GreenLine — Bayshore to Airport
- Saturday frequency reduced: Buses now run every 23–26 minutes (previously every 18–20 minutes).
- Airport detour continues: Bypassing the cellphone lot, with buses serving the south end of baggage claim at Mitchell International Airport.
RedLine — Capitol Drive
- Saturday frequency reduced: Buses now arrive every 19–20 minutes (previously every 16–17 minutes).
Route 21 — North Avenue
- Saturday frequency reduced: Buses now every 30 minutes (previously every 22 minutes).
Route 22 — Center Street
- No current changes listed in the latest MCTS service‑change updates.
Route 30 — Sherman–Wisconsin
- UWM routing simplified as of August 2025: All Route 30 buses now lay over on Kenwood Boulevard next to the UWM Union.
- Service no longer operates on:
- Maryland Avenue
- Downer Avenue (north of Kenwood)
- Edgewood Avenue
- Buses continue to run every 10 minutes.
Route 60 — 60th Street
- Weekday frequency reduced: Buses now every 23–24 minutes (previously 20–22 minutes).
- Major long‑term detour:
- Beginning December 2025, detour between Main Street and Bluemound Road as part of the I‑94 East–West construction.
- Expected to last until late 2028.
- All trip times adjusted to account for added travel time.
Route 68 — Port Washington–Capitol
- Extended service / new connections as of August 2025 added as part of the MOVE 2025 improvements.
