Support & Service Requests
Technology support and service requests provide links to help you report problems and issues so you get support for these, and request service like giving access to technology resources for new employees, adding access to resources employees currently do not have, and requesting data or websites and applications.
Support and Help Requests
The following requests are supported by staff within Technology Integration and Engagement Services (TIES) or by Campus Technology Support (CTS) via the UWM Help Desk.
UWM Help Desk Support
The UWM Help Desk assists with technology questions and issues regarding:
- Computers and printers
- Campus software like Microsoft 365, Adobe Creative Cloud, etc.
- Password lockouts, resets, or other issues
- Teams phone hardware and calling queues
- Multi-factor authentication
- Campus Wifi
- and more
TIES Support
The staff in Technology Integration and Engagement Services (TIES) assists with technology questions and issues regarding specific software and hardware like:
- Cash registers and accessories
- Laundry controllers in University Housing
- SHAW lab equipment, Medicat DUO token, and OmniDuress badges
- Networking in the UWM Student Union
- Software specific to departments/units in Student Affairs and Strategic Enrollment Management & Student Success
After Hours Support
Services that operate regularly outside of normal business hours (7:30 am – 5:00 pm, Monday-Friday) can use the After Hours Support Request form to request assistance from TIES staff for critical/timely issues. The items TIES staff support after hours are:
- Cash Registers and Accessories
- Security Cameras
- GuestPass
- Swiper Student ID Event Swiping
Technology staff may also provide support as needed for special events during non-business hours on a scheduled basis. You must contact TIES a minimum of 1 week before the event.

Technology Resources Access
Request access to technology resources for new or current employees within Strategic Enrollment Management & Student Success and Student Affairs.. Resources include software and applications specific to your departments, access to departmental SharePoint sites, shared network printers, and more.
Employee Termination
Terminate access to IT resources for an employee no longer working for your department.
Cellular Wireless Service
Establish new cellular services, upgrade existing service, or cancel existing service with this form.
DocuSign Access
Request a DocuSign account. DocuSign is a secure service that provides electronic agreements and signature technology for the signing of documents.
PAWS Access
Information on access to PAWS (Peoplesoft Student Information System) and links to request access and to complete FERPA training, required before PAWS access will be given.
Slate Access
Slate is a comprehensive customer relationship management (CRM) platform for admissions and enrollment management, student success, and alumni/advancement. Slate is used campus-wide, most heavily in departments within Strategic Enrollment Management & Student Success.
Websites
Request a new or update an existing website, webpage, web-based application, or online form.
Digital Display
Request to display information on the Bolton Hall digital displays.
Cash Register Change
Update a barcode, button, or cash register layout.
Purchase Technology
All technology-related purchases go through the same standardized process, starting with submitting the purchase request form, to determine the best route for the purchase. More information on the IT purchasing process can be found on:
Sponsored UWM Account
This form is for sponsoring University guests who need an ePantherACCOUNT. They may include visiting scholars, unpaid interns, volunteers, consultants or non-employees who serve in some capacity for a sponsoring department.
Shared Mailbox/Calendar
A Shared Mailbox or Calendar provides the ability for groups of people to collectively share in the processing of its content. At a minimum, it must be requested and owned by one person. Multiple people may be delegated as owner/administrator and others can solely be members who interact with it.
Data and Reporting Requests, Information, and Tools
Requests for data and information and links on UWM data and reporting resources available to you, including software available for gathering data, data reporting, and data visualization.
Student Affairs Data
Request data and reporting. All requests are reviewed to verify they meet legitimate needs and that applicable rules, policies and procedures are followed. Making a request for student data does not imply it will be fulfilled.
Strategic Enrollment Management & Student Success Data
Staff within Strategic Enrollment Management & Student Success generally go to the UWM Data Hub to get aggregate data or to request a custom report.
Data Warehouse Access
Much of that student data from PAWS (PeopleSoft) is selected and stored for reporting access in UWM’s Student Data Warehouse. Most of the data is refreshed on a nightly basis-excluding weekends and holidays. Access to the data warehouse is only given one completes FERPA training and the:
Office of Assessment & Institutional Research (OAIR)
The Office of Assessment & Institutional Research (OAIR) provides data and strategic analysis to help inform key initiatives and decision-making at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM).
UWM Data Hub
The Data Hub serves as a repository for institutional reports—a one-stop shop where campus personnel can find data reports from various offices.
Data @ UWM
The Data @ UWM website from the Data Governance Custodial Committee provides Information and links to UWM reporting resources, including access authorization forms, data cookbook, training resources, and other information and links.
Data Tools
Tools for gathering data and reporting and visualization.
- ExcelMicrosoft Excel is the industry leading spreadsheet program, a powerful data visualization and analysis tool.
- Power BIMicrosoft Power BI is a collection of software services, apps, and connectors that work together to turn your unrelated sources of data into coherent, visually immersive, and interactive insights.
- QualtricsQualtrics is web based software that allows the user to create surveys and generate reports, and analyze the survey data.

The items listed in this section are things you do yourself and do not require you to make a request.
Submit PCard Documentation
Staff who have a procurement cards are required to keep receipts and submit their statement and receipts for approval and storage on a regular basis. Shared Services tracks this and contacts those who are not in compliance.
PantherList
PantherList is the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee’s email reflector and list service. PantherLists can be created by anyone with a valid ePantherID and allow the user to create a list of email addresses that can be emailed all at once by using the PantherList’s address as the recipient.
