Internet Explorer Retirement

Microsoft will end support of Internet Explorer 11 for most Windows 10 operating systems on June 15, 2022

UWM-managed computers will be transitioned from Internet Explorer to Microsoft’s Edge browser. All UWM-managed Windows 10 devices should already have Microsoft Edge installed.

For those who require continued use of Internet Explorer, UWM IT staff have enabled the use of Internet Explorer mode (IE Mode) in Microsoft Edge. IE mode is easy to use and allows websites that require specific Internet Explorer features to load in Microsoft Edge. We were able to determine some websites that campus members regularly visit that would require the use of this feature and have created rules to automatically load those pages in IE Mode

If you visit a website that requires Internet Explorer and it does not automatically load in IE Mode, you can easily make the change yourself.

To do this:

  1. Click the Settings and more button in the upper right corner of the browser window.
  2. Select Reload in Internet Explorer Mode.
(If you are on Microsoft Edge version 92 or earlier select More tools > Reload in Internet Explorer Mode.)
