What is Dual Enrollment at High School?

Dual Enrollment at High Schools is a program that allows high school students to take University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM) courses taught by their high school teachers. Students earn both UWM college credit and high school credit for these courses.

UWM partners with high schools across the city of Milwaukee and surrounding areas, serving approximately 2,000 students annually.

High Schools: Partner with UWM for Dual Enrollment at High School

High school teachers who wish to teach UWM courses must have the same qualifications as UWM instructors teaching the same course. This typically includes a master’s degree in the content area or a master’s degree in another field with at least 18 graduate credits in the content area.

High school teachers or administrators interested in learning more are encouraged to contact Vicki Bott at vlbott@uwm.edu.

Taking this class in high school helps me earn basic general credit while here in high school getting it done early which ultimately saves me money at a really reduced price. The class helped me with my writing and annotating skills. It was a good example of what a college class is like.
