What is High School Special Program?

The High School Special Program allows students from any high school, including home-schooled students, to take UWM courses in person or online alongside other college students. Students and their families are responsible for the cost of regular tuition.

Who is Eligible?
  • Sophomore or higher with 3.0 GPA
  • On track to graduate high school in four years
Cost

The student/family is responsible for 100% of tuition, fees and books. No financial aid is available to high school special students

Apply to High School Special Program at UWM

  1. Letter of Support from High School

    • You must get your high school’s approval to take the course. This can come from a school counselor
  2. Apply to UWM

  3. High School Transcript

  4. Application Timeline & Next Steps

    After all application materials are received, students will receive an admissions decision in their student admission portal within about one week. Once admitted to the High School Special Program, students will receive individualized instructions from their advisor on how to enroll in classes.

High School Special Program Application Submission Deadlines
UWM must receive Letter of Support from High School, UWM Application and High School Transcript by August 1st for the Fall and December 15th for the Spring.
