GPRA 1 · Algebra I by end of 9th grade
Accelerated ELA (CAA): monthly literacy programming delivered March through June to build the reading and reasoning foundation students need for Algebra readiness.
Coppins Corner Math & Reading Tutoring: summer small-group tutoring in math and reading for grade 4–7 GEAR UP students.
In-class technology & coaching: TI graphing calculators paired with PD and in-class coaching for 6th–8th grade math teachers in the TGU cohort.
GPRA 2 · HS graduation on time
Small-group mentoring at Clarke, Douglas, and Morse: ongoing mentoring focused on academic engagement, attendance, and confidence-building.
GEAR UP events & HS-talk classroom presentations: classroom presentations across TGU schools introducing high school planning, on-track expectations, and career pathways.
NAF Career Trips: day trips to UW-Milwaukee and downtown employer venues (e.g., Baird Center) exposing students to career-connected learning and postsecondary environments.
GPRA 3 · FAFSA completion
7th Grade Advising Conversations: 1:1 and small-group advising sessions introducing college planning and financial-aid concepts early in the middle grades.
TGU Overview workshops: district-wide GEAR UP orientation building understanding of the college-going pathway that FAFSA sits inside.
FAFSA is a senior-year activity. Year 1 activities are foundational; direct FAFSA-completion supports come online as the cohort enters high school.
GPRA 4 · Fall-after-HS IHE enrollment
College Exposure visits: campus visits including UW-Milwaukee, UW-Parkside, and Marquette University, building college awareness across the cohort.
UW Parkside Tour Overview & Presentation: structured campus tours pairing hands-on visits with a presentation on the pre-college pathway.
Summer Programs Overview & 7–8 Transition Advising: advising sessions helping students identify summer opportunities and plan the middle-to-high-school transition on a college-going track.
GPRA 5 · Year-2 postsecondary persistence
UW Oshkosh Camp I & Camp II: multi-week summer pre-college residential programming building academic confidence and campus familiarity.
CTD Pre-Course Meetings: preparatory sessions before Northwestern CTD summer academic-enrichment programs.
YES AI Summer Camp: summer entrepreneurship and AI programming that keeps students engaged in rigorous, self-directed learning between grade levels.
