Andrew Muriuki

Andrew M. Muriuki, Ph.D. is an education & public health researcher, program evaluator, and educator with expertise in mixed-methods research, community-based intervention evaluation, and data-informed decision-making. He holds a Ph.D. in Social Work from the University of Missouri and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee's Center for Addiction and Behavioral Health Research. Dr. Muriuki is a member of the Advancing Culturally-responsive and Equitable (ACE) Evaluation Network, which supports Culturally Responsive and Equitable Evaluation (CREE), and his current research examines the dynamics of African kinship care for children with both parents alive an understudied phenomenon at the intersection of culture, family structure, and child well-being. He has served as Principal Investigator on multiple internationally funded studies and has published in peer-reviewed journals. He has taught research methods, social policy, and program planning and evaluation at the graduate and undergraduate levels across several universities.
