Writing conference set for Feb. 25

The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Writing Project is holding its annual conference Saturday, Feb. 25, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the university’s School of Continuing Education at the Grand Avenue Mall, 161 W. Wisconsin Ave.

The conference is open to teachers, instructional coaches, administrators, teacher candidates, specialists and others interested in improving writing and the teaching of writing. Interactive sessions will focus on a range of topics such as writing across disciplines, genre analysis and using sources in argumentative writing. Recent research and strategies in teaching writing will be highlighted.

The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Writing Project has been an affiliate of the National Writing Project since 2008, and is one of nearly 200 sites of the national program.

The $45 cost includes lunch and reduced rate parking.
