Veterans use Shakespeare to heal at UWM

Under the guidance of two UWM theater professors, a group of military veterans is using Shakespeare to work through depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, addiction and reintegration into society. Their troupe, named Feast of Crispian, will be performing “Julius Caesar.”

The troupe’s name comes from the St. Crispin’s Day speech in Shakespeare’s “Henry V,” in which the king reminds his soldiers of their lasting bonds before the Battle of Agincourt.

The Feast of Crispian’s production of “Julius Caesar” will be presented Oct. 30 and 31, 2015 at 7 p.m. and Nov. 1, 2015 at 2 p.m. at Next Act Theatre’s performance space, 255 S. Water St. Admission is free, though donations are accepted. Reservations are strongly suggested. Call 414-278-0765.
