UWM undergrad students heading to national conference

Forty-eight UW-Milwaukee undergraduate students will present their faculty-led research April 7-9 at the National Conference on Undergraduate Research (NCUR) at the University of North Carolina, Asheville.NCURBanner_b

UWM students will join about 4,000 students from nearly 400 universities from across the United States at this annual event. This is the largest delegation of students UWM has sent to the competitive NCUR.

The idea for a national conference open to all undergraduates was conceived and first implemented at the University of North Carolina, Asheville in 1987. The conference regularly hosts students and their faculty mentors to present their research through posters, oral presentations, visual arts and performances.

Opportunities to learn from keynote speakers, interact with representatives from more than 100 graduate schools, and participate in excursions and other activities sponsored by the host site have become the hallmarks of this student research conference.
