UWM recognized in physics research ranking

UW-Milwaukee has been recognized for demonstrating outstanding performance in physics research by the Performance Ranking of Scientific Papers for World Universities.

The ranking scores universities around the world by subject, field and overall performance. In the 2018 subject ranking for physics, UWM ranked 290th out of 502 ranked universities. The University of California-Berkeley and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology tied for first in the world ranking for physics research.

Officially known as the National Taiwan University Ranking, the ranking annually scores universities around the world based on their production and impact of scientific papers. Scores for the ranking are based strictly on how well scientific papers reflect performance based on research productivity, research impact and research excellence. Specific scoring indicators included number of articles and number of citations over the past 11 years, among others.

UWM joins UW-Madison and the Medical College of Wisconsin as the only Wisconsin universities to be featured in the 2018 ranking.
