UWM AccessPT — a student-led physical therapy clinic in the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program — offers physical therapy services through clinical laboratory settings to those lacking insurance, with limited insurance or difficulty accessing physical therapy services.
During the fall semester, appointments will be available on Thursdays from noon-4 p.m. at two locations:
- UWM Campus: NWQ Building, 2025 E. Newport Ave., Room G458
- House of Peace: 1702 W. Walnut St., Milwaukee
Students work in pairs to treat each patient under the direct supervision of a licensed physical therapist faculty member. Students get hands-on experiences to complement what they are learning in the classroom. And community members have access to physical therapy and wellness services at no cost.
Conditions treated include but aren’t limited to:
- Back/neck pain
- Joint pain
- Muscle strains
- Arthritis
- Balance deficits
- Neurologic conditions
- General weakness
