UW System President Tommy Thompson to discuss how universities are vaccinating Wisconsin

MILWAUKEE _ UW System President Tommy Thompson will join representatives from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and Advocate Aurora Health on Monday, March 22, to discuss how public universities are helping vaccinate underserved communities in Wisconsin.

Schedule — Monday, March 22

9:30-9:45 a.m. Media visit to vaccination clinic. Meet in the lounge area on the 2nd floor of the UWM Student Union, 2200 E. Kenwood Blvd., Milwaukee, WI 53211.

Interviews:

  • Patients being vaccinated
  • Advocate Aurora Health nurse working at clinic
  • UWM student nurse working at clinic

Please note that this is an escorted visit with patients who have signed releases permitting media to be present during their vaccinations. It will begin promptly at 9:30 a.m. There will be no other access to the clinic due to patient confidentiality rules.

Free parking is available in the Zelazo surface lot, 3034 N. Prospect Ave., Milwaukee, WI 53211. A dozen spots on the northwest side will be reserved with signage that says, “Visitor/Permit Code Required.” No code is required between 9:15 and 11:30.
