Sport & Rec to offer self-defense course in March

By taking a self-defense course, students learn not only the moves, but also build self-confidence, learn verbal techniques and prepare for the unexpected with lots of practice.

UMW Sport & Recreation will offer an 8-week, self-defense course beginning the week of March 25, with instructor Donna Gallardo. She has over 10 years of in-the-ring boxing experience and six years of fitness and boxing instruction. Her focus is to empower individuals to take their fitness into their own hands using self-defense and boxing.
