Somos Tech offers networking for Latinx STEM students

Somos Tech is an interactive program of innovation and networking, where Latinx college students from across Wisconsin will meet up at UWM’s Lubar Entrepreneurship Center to meet new people, show off their tech projects or make artwork, and enjoy some tapas and music.

The program starts at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 12, and will include Wisconsin corporations looking to hire students in STEM fields. In addition, UMOS will be on hand to offer free technology certifications for students who want to acquire certifications in a variety of technologies.

Register soon for Somos Tech. When registering, please indicate the name of a project you’d like to show, so a spot can be reserved in the Maker Space. If you don’t have a project to bring along, a team will be on hand so you can create something.

The event is co-sponsored by Latinos in Tech, in collaboration with the UWM Roberto Hernández Center and WiscAMP STEM-Inspire Program. The program is being hosted in partnership with WI Tech Month. Find out more about WI Tech Month and other events happening across Wisconsin in October.
