Scheduled released for ride, film screening focusing on veteran suicides, prevention resources

MILWAUKEE _ The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee’s Military and Veterans Resource Center is sponsoring an event at the Harley-Davidson Museum on Friday, Sept. 16, to promote awareness of the suicide rate among veterans and showcase prevention resources.

1:30 -4:30 p.m. Motorcycle Ride, UWM UPark lot at E. Capitol Drive and N. Humboldt Blvd.

  • Staging begins at 1:30 p.m.
  • Arrival at Harley-Davidson Museum at 4:30 p.m.

4:30 -5 p.m. News Media Availability, Harley-Davidson Museum at S. 6th and W. Canal streets

  • Attendees can become acquainted with organizations offering a variety of support services to veterans
  • Barbecue dinner available to all attendees

6 p.m. – 9 p.m. Film and Panel Discussion

  • Screening of “Project 22,” a documentary of a cross-country motorcycle ride by veterans, Doc King and Daniel Egbert, to promote awareness of the suicide rate among veterans and to find solutions for themselves and other veterans.
