Pitch your innovations at UWM contest Oct. 21

Got an idea and want an opportunity to win some money for your innovation? UWM students who are new to pitching and those who are experienced can pitch their ideas in the Pitch In at Light Speed contest from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Oct. 21. It includes $2,500 in awards from the UWM Foundation that are made possible by Northwestern Mutual. Register by Oct. 13.

First-time pitchers will be able to work closely with professionals from Y.E.S., Northwestern Mutual and others who have a start-up business venture to develop an impactful pitch. Later, three winners will be selected as a winner of the entry-level competition. These winners will receive $100 awards each.

For those who have more experience delivering pitches, it is strongly recommended to submit additional information in the registration to compete separately for a larger prize in the experienced-level category. Participants are competing for: first place, $1,000; second place, $700; and third place, $500. The experienced-level pitchers will be notified that they qualify for the advanced competition one week before the event via phone and email.
