Panel to explore cultural and language experiences of Deaf and hearing individuals

Join UWM colleagues and community members for a rich, interactive dialogue about the lived experiences of racially and ethnically diverse community members on March 5 from 4:30-6 p.m. at the Milwaukee Public Library’s Mitchell Street Branch, 906 W. Mitchell St.

The panel — Exploring Global Cultural and Language Experiences of Deaf and Hearing Individuals — will explore the intersection between culture and language with a particular focus on exploring similarities and differences between the experiences of diverse Deaf individuals and hearing individuals who have emigrated to the U.S. The UWM Division of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion is partnering with the UWM Institute for World Affairs to host the panel.

ASL interpreting and language interpretation will be provided. Register at this webpage by Friday, March 1.
