Current University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee students, as well as incoming new ones, can spend the summer hiking, rock climbing, camping and paddling down rivers with University Recreation’s Outdoor Pursuits Office.
Excursions to some of Wisconsin’s top outdoor hot spots begin Saturday, June 11, and are scheduled to continue through mid-August. Trip costs cover all instruction, food, technical equipment and gear, as well as transportation to and from the locations.
Three of those trips are part of the Outdoor Pursuits Wilderness Introduction to Leadership and Development program, or OP WILD, which is designed for new UWM students. OP WILD outings are led by upperclass student instructors, and they’ll share with new students what to expect from their college experience and how to find campus resources, and will be available to answer any other questions.
Full information on the programs and trips is available at the Outdoor Pursuits Summer Trips website.
