MAVRC professional development program focuses on working with military students

UWM’s Military and Veterans Resource Center and University Counseling Services invite the campus community to join the spring professional development program, Working with Military Students.

Dr. Ted C. Bonar, a nationally recognized trainer and speaker, will provide this daylong presentation, which will be held Friday, May 14, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. His expertise is in suicide prevention and military and veteran mental health concerns.

The morning session, 15 Things Military and Veteran Students Want You to Know, will take place 9 a.m.-noon and will be open to university-based faculty and staff. The afternoon session will be held from 1-4 p.m and will focus on evidence-based concepts and practices for trauma treatment. This two-part program offers 3.0 CEU credits per session, which are available for counseling, social work and psychology.
