An exhibition featuring research by UWM undergraduate art history students from the Fall 2024 colloquium taught by Associate Professor Richard Leson opens March 13.
The paintings in this exhibit, “Demoted,” raise questions about authenticity, value, and the ethical implications of traditional art-historical work.
Demoted opens in the Mathis Art Gallery, on the first floor Mitchell Hall, on Thursday, March 13, with an opening reception 5-7 p.m. featuring remarks from undergraduate co-curators at 5:30 p.m. The exhibition runs through May 1.
Gallery hours are Monday through Thursday, 10:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Gallery and events are free and open to the public.
