Keep the heat on as weather gets cold

While it may be tempting to save money and turn back the thermostat when it’s cold outside, a lack of heat in a home can cause significant damage. It can lead to pipes freezing and bursting, causing flooding in the home.

If you’re a renter, know the rules: In Milwaukee, residences must have heat that’s at least 67 degrees. See this Milwaukee Department of Neighborhood Services webpage for details.
