Gerald “Jerry” Gleason, Professor Emeritus in the School of Education, died on Nov. 3 at the age of 88.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, at St. Eugene’s Catholic Church, 7600 N. Port Washington Rd., Fox Point.
Gleason attended UWM from 1945-1949 when it was the Milwaukee State Teachers College and played on the Green Gulls football team. Gleason served in the U.S. Army from 1952-1954.
He earned his doctorate in educational psychology in 1956 and began teaching that year. While at UWM, he served in many administrative positions, including as a member of the University Committee. He retired from UWM in 1986.
