Ignite Startup Accelerator applications are now open

Applications are open for the Ignite Startup Accelerator, an 11-month program to assist founders and entrepreneurs in commercializing their new venture. The program accepts up to 10 teams with 25 total participants. It’s open to all UWM students, faculty, staff and alumni, as well as community members.

Ignite’s goal is to provide tools, resources and connections to entrepreneurs who have a strong business idea and have completed customer discovery. The program is intended to help accelerate the commercialization of their ventures and get to revenue growth.

Resources available to participants include:

  • A $5,000 grant that may be used toward business expenses incurred, including tuition and operating expenses.
  • Shared workspace in the Lubar Entrepreneurship Center (LEC), including internet access.
  • Meeting and conference rooms with A/V equipment.
  • Huddle spaces for private meetings or phone calls.
  • Support from the LEC innovation team, including the LEC entrepreneur-in-residence.
  • Access to LEC programming, including talk series, brown bag lunches and pop-up classes.
