Free UWM workshop explores mobile apps and SAP mobile platform

A free, full-day workshop on “Mobile Apps and the SAP Mobile Platform” will be held at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Lubar School of Business on Friday, Jan. 24, from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. in Lubar Hall, 3202 N. Maryland Ave. The workshop is hosted by the Lubar School’s Center for Technology Innovation.

According to the information technology market intelligence company IDC, 87% of all connected device sales will be tablets and smartphones by 2017. While corporations and organizations should be incorporating this growing trend into their mobile strategy and investments, many organizations are not prepared to deal with this rapid change.

Determining which applications to implement in the evolving mobile environment involves critical decisions. The presenters will provide an overview of mobile development; discuss products used to develop mobile apps, with a focus on the SAP product identified as a “magic quadrant” leader by technology research leader Gartner; and future directions in this environment.

The workshop is designed for individuals interested in mobile development (decision makers, planners, designers, developers) and the rapid change it will impose on the IT organization.

Lubar School of Business faculty members Dave Haseman and Ross Hightower, leading experts on mobile development in the SAP environment, will conduct the workshop. They are co-authors of a leading SAP Press book on the topic and have extensive experience delivering lectures and workshops on mobile development.

There is no charge for this workshop, but advance registration is required. For a printable brochure or to register online, visit http://www.cti.sba.uwm.edu or phone the Lubar School at 414-229-3992 for information.
