The UW System Caregiving Task Force is hosting a virtual forum on Feb. 9, from 1-2:30 p.m. on Title IX protections for pregnant and parenting students.
Ensuring pregnant and parenting students have the support they need to pursue their college education isn’t just the right thing to do — it’s the law. Title IX prohibits discrimination against pregnant and parenting students, and requires proactive steps to ensure their equal educational opportunity.
In addition, the U.S. Department of Education’s Title IX regulations on pregnant and parenting students are getting a major update this year. Join us to explore the new legal requirements designed to encourage proactive support for pregnant and parenting students, and discuss what challenges and opportunities lie ahead for this important work.
