Families invited to connect through storytelling and dialogue Oct. 6

In honor of Banned Book Week 2023, the campus community and families are invited to join a book and story celebration, presented by the ACLU of Wisconsin’s Community Engagement team in partnership with the UWM Children’s Learning Center, UWM’s Student Parent Success Program, and the UWM Women’s Resource Center.

The celebration on Friday, Oct. 6, will include a storytelling experience, guided dialogue with UWM educational professionals and opportunities to connect with other families. The intent is to uplift the voices, experiences and stories of characters and authors who are silenced through censorship, while celebrating the richness of community that is fostered through diversity of thought.

The discussion is from 5:30-6:30 p.m. in the UWM Women’s Resource Center in the UWM Student Union, Room EG37, 2200 E. Kenwood Blvd.

Registration is required. To register and for more information, visit this webpage.
