The FAFSA — Free Application for Federal Student Aid — is now open for the 2023-24 academic year. Students who will be attending UWM in Fall 2023 and/or Spring 2024 should complete the 2023-24 FAFSA. It’s highly recommended that students complete the FAFSA now because some programs have limited funds.
Here are some helpful tips:
- Never pay to submit a financial aid application. Be sure to go to FAFSA.gov to apply.
- Select the 2023-24 FAFSA; the school code for UWM is 003896.
- Use the IRS Data Retrieval Tool (DRT) to transfer your 2021 federal tax information quickly and accurately. If you are unable to use the IRS DRT, make sure to use your 2021 federal tax information.
