Gov. Tony Evers told the Universities of Wisconsin Board of Regents Friday that he’ll request more than $800 million for UWs in his 2025-27 biennial budget.
Evers addressed the Board of Regents during their final day of activities at the UWM Student Union. He said the extra $400 million in each of the budget’s two years would represent the state’s largest-ever biennial budget increase for UWs.
Evers lauded the important role that UWs colleges play in supporting the state’s economy. “We must invest in the University of Wisconsin System. It’s that simple,” he said.
