D2L course cleanup to remove courses

This is the time to preserve course or student information from fall 2011 to summer 2012 D2L courses.

The oldest course websites hosted in D2L are removed on an annual basis. The course information contained in those course websites, as well as these courses’ student information, will no longer be available. For 2016, courses from fall 2011 to summer 2012 will be removed. Ongoing, sandbox and administrative-focused courses are unaffected by this process. The deadline to complete this work is May 20.

For the majority of instructors, the removal is a welcome process as it removes redundant information from D2L and shortens course listings. However, there are some rare circumstances in which information might need to be kept. Course information can be copied to course websites for future terms, or sandbox courses. Student information can be exported from D2L.

In very rare circumstances, courses and student information must be retained in their original form. For assistance with these circumstances, contact CETL’s Learning Technology Consultants by emailing ltc@uwm.edu.

Information, including instructions on how to save course and student information, and directions to legal resources, are at D2L Course Cleanup Resources.
