UWM students and members of the greater Milwaukee community are encouraged to attend a one-hour virtual program to learn about data equity and how we, as future scientists and professionals, can collect, analyze and use data wisely and ethically to help communities of color to thrive and grow.
The virtual event will be held over Zoom on Friday, Oct. 15, at noon. To register for the event, click here.
Guest speakers include Noelle Chesley, associate professor of sociology and director of undergraduate studies at UWM and founder of TecHealth; Krystal Tsosie, Ph.D. candidate in genomics & health disparities at Vanderbilt University; and Nadiyah Johnson, founder of Jet Constellations & Milky Way Tech Hub.
Members of the UWM campus community are encouraged to submit questions in advance, and can do so here. We will attempt to answer them during the program.
This event is sponsored by the UWM WiscAMP STEM-Inspire Program and the UWM Mathematical Sciences Department, hosted as part of WI Tech Month. All are welcome to attend.
