The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, UWM Alumni Association and UWM Student Involvement are presenting the second annual Focus on the Future Student Leadership Program, to take place during spring break, March 18-22.
This initiative, for a select group of students, will explore trends and opportunities in the public, private and nonprofit sectors — with specific focus on themes related to population health, the future of innovation and entrepreneurship, nonprofit organizations in Milwaukee and the workplace of the future.
Confirmed partners (to date) — the City of Milwaukee, Veolia Water, Northwestern Mutual, Bader Rutter, the Milwaukee Bucks, the Urban Ecology Center, Journey House and more — will provide tours, educational panels and networking opportunities for student participants. This program will also include entrepreneurship, career planning and financial literacy workshops to provide students with a well-rounded look at their futures after graduation, as well as the future of Milwaukee across different sectors.
The program strives to engage students from every school and college on campus, as well as undecided and metamajor students who may enjoy this unique opportunity as they determine their future area of study.
