Saving gas and reducing fuel emissions is the vision behind Intelligent Composites, a Milwaukee-based startup launched by UW-Milwaukee Distinguished Professor Pradeep Rohatgi, industry partner David Weiss and two UWM alumni. For 40 years, Rohatgi has been creating high-performance metal blends and Weiss has been perfecting how to mass-produce them. They believe that Rohatgi’s self-lubricating metal composite has the potential to dramatically reduce vehicle fuel consumption. Now they are working to get the material in front of automotive companies, while also making parts for power sport vehicles.
