Alums discuss their work on ‘The Nightmare Before Christmas’

UWM alumni Owen Klatte and Angie Glocka played a major role in stop-motion animated film, “The Nightmare Before Christmas,” which will be shown 7 p.m. Jan. 28 at the UWM Union Cinema. Each worked as an animator on the film.

Klatte (’76 BS Architecture) is also an associate instructor in the Peck School of the Arts Department of Film, Video, Animation and New Genres. Glocka graduated in 1982 with a BA in Film. The husband-wife duo has worked on other films, including “Harry Potter Potter and the Deathly Hollows: Part 1.”

A question-and-answer session with Klatte and Glocka will follow the screening. Puppets, props and set pieces from the film will be on display.

Admission is free with a student ID and $5 for non-students.

Released in 1993, and produced by Tim Burton, “The Nightmare Before Christmas” tells the story of Jack Skellington, a citizen from Halloween Town who opens a portal to Christmas Town and decides to take over Christmas.
