Diane Reddy, director of UWM’s Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning, was one of five educators to receive a 2015 Brightspace Innovation Award in Teaching and Learning. The award is presented annually by the Society for Teaching and Learning in Higher Education and D2L.
“D2L champions innovators in education and is delighted to see what these five leaders have accomplished in teaching and educating learners,” said John Baker, president and CEO of D2L. “They have demonstrated leadership, creativity and a passion for student-centered teaching approaches, and their work has been key to helping learners achieve success.”
A professor of psychology, Reddy designed and implemented U-Pace, a student-centered, high-impact online learning technology that has increased student success at UWM and other universities. Her work and research on U-Pace is supported by multiple grants.
Reddy and U-Pace previously won a 2012 National University Technology Distance Education Innovation Award, the 2013 Desire2Excel Impact Award and the 2014 Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education Technologies Outstanding Work Award.
