The Northwestern Mutual Data Science Institute (NMDSI) is accepting applications for three 2027 Center of Excellence funding opportunities. Previous award recipients and applicants, affiliated faculty and new collaborators are encouraged to review the current program materials and consider applying this cycle.
Applications are open for:
- Paving ROADS Seed Fund, which supports faculty research
- Pioneer Collaborative Curricula Program, which supports course and curriculum development
- Student Research Scholars, which supports paid, faculty-mentored student research during the Spring 2027 semester
These programs support research, education and talent development as part of NMDSI’s Center of Excellence focus areas, including data science broadly defined, responsible AI and data ethics, bias and equity, workforce development, economic vitality, financial security, and related interdisciplinary applications.
