This June, UWM will be launching a new WiFi network for guests and will be retiring the UWM Visitor WiFi network.
As part of this change, all students, faculty and staff at UWM should double-check that their personal devices are connecting to WiFi through either UWMWiFi or eduroam — not the Visitor network.
Many personal devices auto-connect to WiFi, so it’s important to check your network connection before June. UWM-managed devices should require no change.
WiFi Networks at UWM
- UWM WiFi is for long-term use for UWM students, faculty and staff. Check that your personal devices are connecting to this network, and not UWM Visitor.
- Eduroam is another secure WiFi option for UWM students and employees and is available while visiting other participating universities and institutions.
- UWM visitors and guests will use the new UWM Guest WiFi network (currently UWM Visitor). This network is intended for short-term use by those visiting the UWM campus.
