Qingsu Cheng has received a U.S. Department of Agriculture grant to develop a process to monitor and treat pathogens in polluted wastewater.
Cheng, an assistant professor of biomedical engineering, is the principal investigator on the grant. He will develop and test a technology that assures the quality of reclaimed water and agricultural wastewater so that more can be used in irrigation.
