School of Information Studies Master's of Library & Information Science Program Committee
Virtual via MicroSoft Teams, 01:00 pm
Purpose of Meeting: Revisit COA learning outcomes for alignment with 4 MLIS program goals (HLC) core courses.
4. Action Item: make Information Security, Disinformation, & Social Engineering a permanent U/G course. Proposed number: INFOST 673.
As an INFOST 691 course the enrollments were 29 in the Fall 2021 and 30 in the Fall 2023.
5. Action Item: Name change for Search Engine Society (INFOST 674), to Data Driven Society.
Rationale: outdated title. Search Engines deal with data. It makes more sense to assign more descriptive title. The course already covers topics on how data affects different aspects of society. Nothing needs to change besides the title.
