UWM Gallery Night features exhibits across campus on Sept. 21

Explore the galleries across UWM’s campus after hours on Thursday, Sept. 21, during the UWM Gallery Night. See choice artwork, historical pieces and performances that pay tribute to the relationships between terrestrial, celestial and art/science.

Events from 4-7 p.m. will include an overview of star maps from the American Geographical Society Library exhibit “Mapping the Skies: Celestial Mapping Through Time,” an out-of-this-world poetry slam, and starry views from Curtin Hall’s 9th floor galleries.

The schedule includes:
4-6 p.m.: Mathis Gallery – Art History Welcome Event
5-6 p.m.: UWM Library Grind space / cases – Poetry Slam
5:30 p.m.: Curtin Hall, 9th floor – WGS Quilt Rehanging
6-6:30 p.m.: UWM American Geographical Society Library – Star Maps Discussion led by Marcy M. Bidney

Participating galleries include the Grind, AGSL and Special Collections spaces of Golda Meir Library, SARUP Gallery in Architecture and Urban Planning, Mathis Gallery in Mitchell Hall, Union Art Gallery, Kenilworth Square East and the 9th floor of Curtin Hall.

All galleries and activities are free and open to the public.
