Learn more about new data science programs at NMDSI town halls

The Northwestern Mutual Data Science Institute (NMDSI) will host two upcoming town halls where you can learn more about new data science programs.

A virtual town hall is scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 13, from 2-3 p.m. Register for the Sept. 13 session.

In addition, an in-person session will be Thursday, Sept. 21, from 2:30-3:30 p.m. in Cunningham Hall, Room 151, on UWM’s campus. Register for the Sept. 21 program.

NMDSI is a collaboration between Northwestern Mutual, UWM and Marquette University.

Attendees can expect to hear from Executive Director Jonathan Stark along with university co-directors: Dr. Purush Papatla of UWM and Scott Rex of Marquette. These NMDSI leaders will share new opportunities to get involved with the NMDSI through several new programs, including the Roads Seed Fund Program, Curricula Programs, Horizon Awards, the NMDSI Scholars Program and NMDSI Student Scholarships.

Each of these programs, centered around artificial intelligence, AI data ethics and bias, health wealth inequality, behavioral economics, and financial literacy, is intended to accelerate research and innovation, talent pathways, community outreach and partnerships.

Their presentations will be followed by an open Q&A.
